RUAE (Close reading)
Close reading can feel daunting, but with the a guided approach it becomes manageable. Together, having an online English tutor and studies coach means we'll build clear, step-by-step techniques for understanding, analysing and evaluating unseen passages, so your teenager goes into the RUAE paper knowing exactly what each question is asking.
Critical reading
From Scottish texts to the critical essay, we’ll explore literature in a way that's engaging rather than overwhelming. Your teenager will learn to write thoughtful, well-structured responses that show real insight and earn the marks their understanding deserves.
Portfolio
The writing portfolio is a chance for your teenager to be creative. I’ll guide them through planning, drafting and refining each piece, offering considered feedback at every stage, so the finished work reflects their own voice, creativity and best effort.

Confidence grows when students feel understood and supported. With patient guidance and steady progress, your son or daughter will begin to trust their own ideas and abilities, walking into the exam room calm, prepared and ready to do themselves justice.
